The idea behind these Markus Hofko (pseudonym = rainbowmonkey) pieces is straightforward -- taking apart famous cartoon characters -- and yet, I find them incredibly interesting. The very title of the series is strange and interesting: Cartoon Particles. Here, we have Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck taken apart and the result is jarring and abstract, familiar but not. When the source photo is nowhere to be seen, the effect is even stranger/stronger.
